What is a Doula?
The word "Doula" comes from ancient Greek meaning, "A woman who serves." As a doula I am a trained professional to provide continous emotional, physical, and informational support, along with advice to help the mother achieve the best outcome for her birthing experience.
Birth Doula ...
A birth doula helps to assist laboring mothers when they have their baby. Doulas can assist both vaginal and cesarean deliveries. Through prenatal meetings I help inform you about choices that may arise when you are in labor. A birth doula also helps to maintain a calm atmosphere in your laboring space while working alongside the family and medical professionals to unite a strong labor support team for YOU! A doula doesn't replace the role of the birthing partner but helps to allow the birthing partner to take breaks while not leaving the birthing mother alone.
I have been trained by DONA International. I want to help make this a special occasion and special time for you and your loved ones. I have learned techniques in counter pressure, massage, positioning, breathing through labor, and nursing. Alongside that, I am there for you completely. I don't leave your side and I offer emotional support for you as you continue your birthing journey. My goal is for you to have the birthing experience that you desire.
Adoption Doula ...
Adoption can be a hare choice to make. Pregnancy alone can cause so many emotional changes and then add the thought of adoption on top and no wonder why it seems like a hormonal roller-coaster has taken hold of you. As an adoption doula I work with the birthing mother to help support her through the process of adoption. Adoption brings many more challenges and paperwork, my goal is to help you find the right adoption route for you.
I also help to work with the adopting family so that we can make this as smooth of a transition as possible. My desire is to see the birthing mother experience the best for her birthing experience while keeping the adopting family satisfied and encouraged. Adoptions can be handled in a variety of ways with many different options. I will support you and your choices for your adoption.
Grieving Doula ...
A loss of a baby is something no one ever would plan for or expect. Whether you have had a miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, stillbirth, or a NICU loss, my heart goes out to you. There often isn't enough resources that should be given to those in times of a loss.
As a bereavement doula I am able to provide resources, along with emotional, and informational support. You have the right to share your story, to be heard and receive validation that your baby was so precious and special. Often times, people don't realize the impact of a loss of a little one. It's more than just a baby, it's the hopes, dreams, and desires you had for your baby that all the sudden are gone too. The pain of a loss runs deep, know that I am here for you to support you during this time of healing. Having gone through a loss, my heart breaks with empathy for you.
Postpartum Doula
Sometimes it can be nice to have an extra set of hands around for after you have had your baby. As you are now learning to adjust to life according to this little one sometimes we just simply run out of time or energy to get things done. As a postpartum doula, I support mamas and families during the postpartum period. I work with mamas emotionally as we process you labor and birth story, and also as you're walking through this new stage of life. I help with various tasks around the home and with your baby in hopes to help make this transition as smooth as possible for you and your baby.
If you have previously had an abortion and still feel the weight of that decision, know that you can reach out to me for support and healing. We'll talk about finding ways to cope and get to the true feelings of your abortion experience. My post-abortion support sessions are Biblical and help you find true freedom.

It's my passion to be able to help encourage the younger generatio to realize that they are fearfully and wonderfully made. I am a certified instructor of a course called "Maidens by His Design" which helps young girls ages 8 and up to understand their menstrual cycle and how to take good care of the body God has given them. Through this course, the girls learn that their body is unique and a special gift that deserves to be well taken care of. This is a mother-daughter course to help encourage openness amongst mothers & daughters and to have a great bonding experience together.
